EAGLES CARNIVAL & AUCTION

Tickets for the 14th annual Eagles Carnival & Auction, benefiting the Eagles Youth Partnership, are on sale. The event takes place 3 to 8 p.m. Aug. 17 at Lincoln Financial Field. Tickets may be purchased at philadelphiaeagles.com.

Advance online tickets are $9 for ages 3 to 12 and $14 for adults; day-of tickets are $13 for children and $21 for adults. Fans may reserve autographs of high-profile players, as well as activities, such as the Eagles locker room tours. Returning this year is "Magic Snaps with Jon Dorenbos," where fans witness a live magic show by the Eagles long snapper, who is a Las Vegas headliner in the off-season.


EVENING OF CHAMPIONS

Beginning 5:30 p.m. Aug. 8, the City of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Sports Congress, a division of the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau, will host an Evening of Champions. The festivities take place on 10th Street between Arch and Race streets.

The free fair celebrates the spirit of the Olympics and showcases Chinese tradition and culture. It will feature the Beijing Summer Games’ Opening Ceremonies on large screens starting at 8 p.m., appearances by former Olympians, displays of Olympic-related sports and exhibitions of Chinese culture and traditions.

HURRICANES FOOTBALL

The South Philly Hurricanes youth football program, a Pop Warner affiliate, is having open registration/sign-ups for the 2008-09 season. Early registration for ages 5 to 15 is through Aug. 20. Spots are limited, with registration fees reduced for the first 100 applicants. NEUMANN-GORETTI FOOTBALL

Neumann-Goretti varsity football players must report for camp 6 p.m. Aug. 4 at 26th and Moore streets. Incoming freshmen are invited, but attendance is not mandatory. PHILLIES RBI SOFTBALL

The South Philadelphia Phillies RBI team based out of SEYAA, Seventh and Bigler streets, advanced to Wednesday’s age 13-to-15 championship game against Moss Recreation Center. Both teams entered the contest that started after press time with identical 7-1 records as each lost once to the other during the regular season.


SEYAA FALL OUTDOOR SOCCER

SEYAA is accepting registration for fall outdoor soccer, which begins Sept. 6, for age divisions 4 to 6; 7 to 8; 9 to 10; 11 to 13; and high school age.
