EAGLES CARNIVAL & AUCTION

Tickets for the 14th annual Eagles Carnival & Auction, benefiting the Eagles Youth Partnership, are on sale. The event takes place 3 to 8 p.m. Aug. 17 at Lincoln Financial Field. Tickets may be purchased at philadelphiaeagles.com.

Advance online tickets are $9 for ages 3 to 12 and $14 for adults; day-of tickets are $13 for children and $21 for adults. Fans may reserve autographs of high-profile players, as well as activities, such as the Eagles locker room tours. Returning this year is "Magic Snaps with Jon Dorenbos," where fans witness a live magic show by the Eagles long snapper, who is a Las Vegas headliner in the off-season.


HIGHTOWER UPDATE

Carlene Hightower, of 33rd and Reed streets, is playing basketball professionally and it’s a long plane ride from home. The La Salle University grad, who earned a degree in speech language hearing science, has signed a contract with TSV Wasserburg, based 35 miles east of Germany’s capital of Munich.

The athlete attended the WNBA’s pre-draft camp earlier this year. She closed out her La Salle career ranked in the top-10 in several statistical categories.


HURRICANES FOOTBALL

The South Philly Hurricanes youth football program, a Pop Warner affiliate, is having open registration/sign-up for the 2008-09 season. Early registration for ages 5 to 15 is through Aug. 20. Spots are limited, with registration fees reduced for the first 100 applicants. Registrations forms and papers may be picked up at Smith Playground, 25th and Jackson streets, where games and practices also will be held. Call coach Tee Bennett, 215-439-7653.


SCIOSCIA BASEBALL CAMP

Scioscia baseball camp for boys and girls ages 9 to 14 is at Sacks Playground, Fourth Street and Washington Avenue, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays through Aug. 15. Participants must bring a baseball glove, spikes, bathing suit and sneakers. Cost is $40 per week ($120 for four weeks; $240 for eight weeks) and includes breakfast, lunch, two T-shirts and a baseball hat. SEYAA FALL OUTDOOR SOCCER

SEYAA is accepting registration for fall outdoor soccer, which begins Sept. 6, for age divisions 4 to 6; 7 to 8; 9 to 10; 11 to 13; and high school age.
