AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL

DVYAA SPRING BASEBALL

DVYAA is accepting registration for baseball 6:30 to 8 weeknights and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays at Barry Playground, 18th and Johnston streets. Age groups are: T-ball (5 to 7); peewee (8 to 9); majors (10 to 12); and seniors (13 to 15). Call 215-468-1265.


FLYERS BLOCK PARTY

The Bud Light Playoff Block Party is taking place inside the AT&T Pavilion and outside the Wachovia Center on the 11th Street side starting 4 p.m. April 17, prior to Game Four of the Philadelphia Flyers/Washington Capitals NHL’s Eastern Conference Quarterfinal. Game time is 7 p.m.

Tickets for the game are required to enter the block party. There will be interactive games, live music, a barbecue and celebrity appearances. Fans also can test their hockey and basketball skills, take a shot on goal, play two-ball mini basketball, compete in pop-a-shot contests and meet team mascots and alumni players.


KOON UPDATE

Amateur boxer Paul Koon, of the 1400 block of South Taylor Street, will compete in the Golden Glove Nationals May 5 to 10 in Grand Rapids, Mich. Earlier this year, the heavyweight won a bronze medal at the U.S. Future Stars National Championship in Colorado Springs.


MURPHY FITNESS CLASS

Murphy Rec Center, Fourth and Shunk streets, is holding a cardio fitness class 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays. Cost is $7 per class. Call 215-685-1874 or visit www.murphyrec.com.


RIZZO SPORTS

Rizzo Rink, 1101 S. Front St., is forming traveling hockey teams in the midget-minor (16-and-under) and bantam (14-and-under) divisions. Home games are at the University of Pennsylvania’s Class of 1923 rink 9 a.m. Saturdays. E-mail hockey@rizzorink.com or call 215-685-1593.

SABRES BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

Registration is under way for Sabres baseball and softball. The divisions are 4 to 6 for T-ball; 7 to 8 for pitching machine; 9 to 10 for live pitch; 11 to 12 for Little League; and 13 to 15 for Major League.

Softball divisions are 8 to 10; 11 to 13; and 14 to 16.

SEYAA SPRING SPORTS

SEYAA is holding registration for T-ball, baseball and softball, which begins April 20. The age divisions are: 4 to 6 for T-ball; 7 to 8 for pitching machine; 8 to 10 and 10 to 12 for live pitch; 13 to 15 and 16 to 19 for Babe Ruth; and 12 to 14 for girls’ softball. Games will be played at Seventh and Bigler streets.

SCIOSCIA SUMMER BASEBALL CAMP

Scioscia baseball camp for boys and girls ages 9 to 14 is at Sacks Playground, Fourth Street and Washington Avenue, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays June 23 to Aug. 15. Participants must bring a baseball glove, spikes, bathing suit and sneakers. Cost is $40 per week ($120 for four weeks; $240 for eight weeks) and includes breakfast, lunch, two T-shirts and a baseball hat.
