PHILADELPHIA MARATHON VOLUNTEERS
The Philadelphia Marathon is seeking volunteers age 16 and older for pre-race and race-day activities. The race is 7 a.m. Nov. 23, but people are needed for the Philadelphia Marathon weekend, which starts Nov. 21 and includes the Health & Fitness Expo at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, 12th and Arch streets. Race-day volunteers are needed at the start line.

The South Philly Cobras 14-and-under baseball team is looking for players for the winter and spring. South Philadelphia High, Broad Street and Snyder Avenue, is holding a basketball tournament Dec. 12 and 13. Bodine will play Frankford at 3:15 p.m Dec. 12 followed by Southern/Prep Charter at 4:30. Triple-header action follows Dec. 13 with Bodine/Bartram at noon, Frankford/Glen Mills at 1:30 p.m. and Southern/Penn Wood at 3. Admission is $5 for students with ID; $3 for ages 12 and younger; and $7 for others.
