CARR UPDATE

Local pugilist Simon "One Punch" Carr returns to the ring May 2 in an eight-round contest for the World Boxing Foundation cruiserweight title. The 5-3-1 fighter meets Andres Taylor (7-0-1) of Johnstown. The event takes place at the Johnstown War Memorial Arena.

MCKEE UPDATE

Coppin State senior Tywain McKee of 13th and Bainbridge streets was named to the Mid-Major All-America and Defensive All-America teams. McKee, the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Year, averaged 18.4 points and 5.7 rebounds per game for Coppin State during the 2008-09 season and set school records for career points (2,158) and steals (253).

MTAGWA AT THE BLUE
