Two murder suspects sought

New Castle County, Del., police have issued two more arrest warrants in the death of 35-year-old Maurice Goodman, whose body was found stuffed in a car trunk in Grays Ferry Oct. 15.

Wanted for murder, robbery and conspiracy are Ronald James "Big R" Collins, 19, of Chester, and Tyrone "T.Y." Miller, 23, of Wilmington, New Castle County Police Cpl. Trinidad Navarro said.

Anthony Butler, 38, of Bear, Del., has already been charged with the murder of Goodman, whose body was found at about 3 a.m. on the 1200 block of South 27th Street in the parked 2008 Cadillac rental, the corporal said. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:48 a.m. from asphyxiation and blunt force trauma to the head, Medical Examiner spokesman Jeff Moran said.

Police officials said Goodman’s death has been linked to the double homicide of two New Castle, Del., women in Chester Oct. 13, but aren’t saying whether the three suspects in Goodman’s murder are responsible for the Chester crime.

Fugitive found

When police arrested a man for selling drugs in Southwest Philly, they discovered a loaded 9mm on him and that he was wanted for other crimes — including a homicide, Homicide Fugitive Squad Detective Mike Cahill told the Review.

Sammie Campbell, 19, was stopped by 12th District police for selling narcotics at about 8:45 p.m. Oct. 30 on the 5800 block of Florence Avenue, Cahill said. Police found a 9mm pistol loaded with nine live rounds and two bundles of heroin — equaling 7.8 grams — on the suspect, the detective said. Campbell was charged with possession and firearms offenses.

After refusing to give his name, police ran Campbell’s prints and discovered he was wanted for a double shooting that left one man dead and another shooting three months later, both in the 4th District. Upon his arrest, Campbell, from the 1700 block of McClellan Street, was charged with the 5:18 p.m. June 17 murder of Lawrence Rose, 19, from the 1800 block of South Sixth Street. Rose was shot once in the abdomen while a 17-year-old took two bullets to the left hip and left leg on the 1800 block of South Seventh Street. Both went to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where the younger victim was in stable condition and Rose died almost a month later at 4:34 p.m. July 12. An arrest warrant was issued for Campbell Aug. 21. For wounding the teen, Campbell also was charged with attempted murder and related offenses.

Another shooting shortly before 3:30 p.m. Sept. 12 of a 20-year-old on the 500 block of Moore Street lead to another charge of attempted murder for the suspect.

A massive bust on the 900 block of Cantrell Street netted eight firearms, ammunition and an assortment of prescription pills and related items consistent with dealing, police said. After a two-day investigation by Narcotics Strike Force A Platoon into drug sales on the block, officers executed a search and seizure warrant and arrested three males in the 2:30 p.m. Oct. 28 raid, Capt. Mark Lemmons, 32, from the 1000 block of Mercy Street, was charged with possession for allegedly buying, while Michael Colosi, 47, and Christian Hart, 29, both from the residence where the bust took place, were identified by police as dealers and charged with possession with intent to deliver, manufacture and delivery and numerous firearms offenses.

Recovered from the property were the following handguns: a black 44 Magnum; a black .22-caliber; a silver .22-caliber; a black 357; a 1916 model automatic; a black .22-caliber revolver; a silver Colt .32-caliber; and a black 380-caliber handgun. Five boxes of .22-caliber and a box of .38-caliber ammunition also were seized along with two holsters, a magazine for a 9mm handgun and $19,451 in cash. Several Percocet and Oxycontin pills were recovered along with other drug paraphernalia such as tally sheets with pill and money amounts on them, a physician’s desk reference for pills, and a blue pill bottle with pill cutter, the captain said.
