First-graders from classrooms 105 and 106 at A.S. Jenks School, 2501 S. 13th St., proudly waved their flags as they performed Ray Charles’ “Fifty Nifty United States” June 7 during the Art and Music Festival. The students’ teachers, Jean Evans and Donna Mooney, helped to prepare the children for their moment in the spotlight.
