With the Phillies in hibernation and no fans to rile up, it left the green, furry Phanatic with a Dec. 3 opening in his very full schedule. Spreading some holiday cheer at the Ford Police Athletic League, 631 Snyder Ave., was a no-brainer for the Galapagos Islands native. Surrounded by 80 fans, chants of "Let’s Go Phillies" served in place of carols, but the Phillies didn’t arrive empty-handed: The world championship team put a $10,000 donation towards PAL’s Adopt-A-Center program in the group’s collective stocking — and they didn’t even take any cookies and milk.
