Ivan Miguel, foreground, surely wasn’t born when Mexico started its long fight for independence against Spain in 1810, but he knows a good fiesta when he sees one. The 3-year-old student at the bilingual Head Start at Epiphany of Our Lord School, 13th and Jackson streets, enjoyed the morning festivities Sept. 16 with his classmates. The free pre-school program is for ages 3 to 5 and under the direction of Dalia O’Gorman.
