A female used aggression to fight off two would-be thieves in South of South last week.

Police met with the complainant at 8 p.m. Feb. 20 on the 1200 block of South 19th Street and learned that at 8:30 p.m. the previous night, she had been walking on the 800 block of South 19th Street when two unknown men approached her from behind and tried to take her purse, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The complainant used punches and kicks to retain her bag, with the offenders fleeing westbound on Montrose Street.

She described the potential criminals as white, 18 to 20 years old, with the first being 5-foot-6 and the second 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8; both having slim build and being clean-shaven, wearing black skull caps; the first wearing a black North Face fleece jacket and dark sneakers; and the second wearing a black Adidas track jacket with white stripes on the sleeves.
