A man was beaten and mugged on his way to see a Flyers game last week.

The 23-year-old took the bus to 10th Street and Oregon Avenue at 6:25 p.m. Nov. 17. He traveled down 10th Street en route to the Wells Fargo Center, 3601 S. Broad St., but while on the 3000 block of South 10th Street, three men pushed him to the ground, and punched him twice in the face, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. One of the offenders said, “Give me everything or I’ll stab you.”

The man complied and handed over his cell phone, iPod and wallet, which contained ID, credit cards and $10, Tolliver said. The thieves fled north on 10th and the victim fled to the Holiday Inn, 900 Packer Ave., to call police.

While he suffered a swollen nose, he did not seek medical treatment, Tolliver said.

The men were described as 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8 and thin. Two were described as black and one was described as white. One of the former was wearing a dark gray hoody.
