A City employee was assaulted while doing his job last week.

Adam Vail, 21, of the 2400 block of Beulah Street, allegedly began to argue with a 50-year-old Philadelphia Water Department worker after he had turned off the resident’s water, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. As the uniformed staffer sat in the department van, Vail is believed to have walked up and leaned inside the vehicle to punch him in the left side of his jaw.

Although the employee did not seek medical treatment, Vail was apprehended and charged with criminal mischief, recklessly endangering another person and simple assault.
