Water fight

Competing water vendors fought over a spot right off of the Schuylkill Expressway last week.

A 50-year-old arrived on the 2600 block of West Passyunk Avenue at 11:45 a.m. Aug. 2 to sell bottles of water. Two men, who had the same intentions, approached him and asked him to leave. After he denied their request, one of the men punched him a few times in the face and fled on foot while the other smacked him a couple of times in the back of his head before driving off in a blue Ford minivan. The victim was treated at Methodist Hospital for a broken nose.

The first offender was described as black with a medium complexion, 5-foot-10, 180 to 200 pounds; having short hair, brown eyes, a beard; and wearing a black shirt, tan shorts and black New Balance sneakers. The second man was described as black with a light complexion, 5-foot-7, 160 pounds and having a bald head.
