A woman escaped a touchy situation in Lower Moyamensing last week.

Police responded to a robbery in progress call at 2:15 a.m. Dec. 15 and reported to the 1000 block of Jackson Street. Meeting with the complainant, they learned she had been walking on Jackson Street between 10th and 11th streets when she felt a hand on her left side sliding around her waist, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said.

The woman turned around and pushed away the hand, telling a man to leave her alone. She then felt a hand on her right shoulder and again turned around to demand he stop touching her. When she did, she saw two male offenders, catching the silhouette of a gun in one’s hand while the other figure quickly ducked from view, Tolliver said. The complainant, who escaped harm by quickly walking away, described the first offender as black, 16 to 23 years old, 5-foot-7 and 130 to 140 pounds; having a thin build; and wearing a gray knit hat with ear flaps and tassels and a dark waist-length jacket. She could not provide a detailed description of the second individual.
