A man was assaulted inside a Whitman club’s VIP section early Saturday.
An unknown man punched a 24-year-old in the face inside Club Onyx, 2908 S. Columbus Blvd. at 3:25 a.m., Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. He hit him two more times while he was on the floor, knocking him unconscious, before fleeing the establishment.
The victim was transported to Hahnemann University Hospital for treatment of his state, as well as for facial lacerations and knocked out teeth, Tolliver said.
The culprit was described as black with a medium complexion, age 30, 5-foot-9; having a goatee, cornrows and a tattoo covering his right hand; and wearing a white T-shirt, dark blue jeans and white and red Nike sneakers.
