A man was robbed at gunpoint in a Newbold subway station last week.

After a 61-year-old exited the train platform at the Tasker-Morris Broad Street Line subway stop on the 1600 block of South Broad Street, a man pointed a silver handgun with a black handle at his back and demanded his wallet and cell phone, Detective Tamika Selden of South Detective Division said. The thief pulled his wallet that contained $50 from his pocket and grabbed his cell phone from his belt before fleeing up the stairs.

The offender, who jumped into an unidentified silver automobile that fled west on Tasker Street, was described as black, age 40 to 45, 6-foot-5, 240 to 250 pounds, stocky and wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans.
