Two men robbed a West Passyunk store, holding two 12-year-old girls at gunpoint in the process Saturday afternoon.

Three armed men entered Wendy’s Food Corner, 2101 S. 22nd St., at 4:15 p.m., Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. Two of the offenders jumped the counter while the third man, who carried a silver firearm, stood as a lookout at the front door.

Behind the counter, one of the men asked where to find the money, Tolliver said. After a 38-year-old female employee opened the register, the thief grabbed $300. Meanwhile the other thief took an iPhone and wallet from a 21-year-old male and an iPad from a 12-year-old girl. The same man then pointed his gun at the other 12-year-old girl, who had her hands in her pockets, and commanded her to empty her pockets, which were empty.

The first offender insisted on more money from the woman, but she said she didn’t have any more, Tolliver said. The lookout said, “Let’s go,” and the pair jumped over the counter, but before they fled, the first offender snatched the woman’s iPhone and 30 SEPTA tokens from the counter.

The trio fled westbound on Snyder Avenue and northbound on Croskey Street, Tolliver said.

The first robber was described as black, age 30, 5-foot-8; having a medium build; and wearing a gray hoodie, black mask and black gloves while the other was described as black, 5-foot-10, thin and wearing a dark-colored hoodie, blue jeans, a black mask and black gloves. The lookout was described as black, age 23, 5-foot-10, thin and wearing a black hoody, black pants and a black mask.
