A woman trying to catch the subway was mugged in the process Sunday afternoon.
A 50-year-old woman was walking down the stairs to the northbound platform at the Broad Street Line’s Ellsworth-Federal station on the 1100 block of South Broad Street when a group of unknown men pushed her causing her to tumble down the steps at 3 p.m., Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said.
They grabbed her purse, which contained a cell phone, medical cards, ID, $40 and medications, Tolliver said. The woman was unharmed.
Police did not provide a description of the perpetrators at press time.
