After an extensive search, Lower Merion and Philadelphia police departments located an officer of the former unit in FDR Park, Broad Street and Pattison Avenue.

Sean Quinn, 46, was last seen at 5:30 a.m. in Ardmore Monday while his final contact with his family occurred about an hour later somewhere near Columbus Boulevard, according to the Lower Merion Police Department. He was supposed to report to work at 7 a.m., however, officers located him inside his personal vehicle at FDR Park unresponsive with a “self-inflicted gunshot wound.”

“The Lower Merion Police Department wishes to express its heartfelt condolences to Officer Quinn’s family and friends and asks that they be kept in your thoughts and prayers as we all try to come to terms with this tragic event,” Lower Merion Police Superintendent Michael McGrath said in a statement.
