From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, thousands of volunteers will participate in the Seventh annual Philly Spring Cleanup, with South Philly set to host more nearly seven dozen events. Last year’s efforts collected 1,014,540 pounds of trash and 23,341 pounds of recycling across the city, making it the biggest installment yet. With the way our thoroughfares have looked recently, it seems that at least that much debris will need removing this year.
