Police arrested an unidentified 19-year-old for shooting a fellow teen in Hawthorne Tuesday.
Shortly before 1 p.m., the 14-year-old was at 13th and Christian streets when he became involved in a confrontation with three individuals. The fight came to involve gunfire, with a bullet striking the victim in his left buttock.
Authorities, who transported the boy to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where personnel listed him as stable, are looking for the other melee members and are inspecting surveillance footage from a passing SEPTA bus. The weapon had not been recovered as of press time.
