Swiped from their pockets

Two men were held up at gunpoint in Whitman early Sunday.

A 23- and 24-year-old man were walking along the 400 block of Jackson Street at 12:26 a.m. when a man pointed a long, black shotgun at the older victim and said, “You know what it is. Come out of your pockets” before taking his cell phone, digital camera, driver’s license and $15, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. Meanwhile, the accomplice swiped a cell phone, ID, bank card, Access card and $370 from the other victim.

The gunman was described as black with a dark complexion, 6-foot-1, 200 pounds; having a medium build; and wearing a black jacket with tan fur on the hood, a black skully cap and dark-colored jeans. The accomplice was described as black, age 20 to 21, 5-foot-10, clean shaven; wearing a black jacket and black sweatpants; and being nicknamed “Lil.”
