A man robbed a Girard Estate cell phone store and its employee of her phone.

The thief entered Metro PCS, 2121 W. Oregon Ave., at 3:55 p.m. March 10 to inquire about cell phones, but once all of the other customers had left, he put his hand in his pocket, making it appear that he had a gun. As he walked around the counter, he said to the 18-year-old employee, “Give me all the money,” Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. He swiped $700 and the woman’s phone and said, “Don’t call the police” before he fled westbound on 22nd Street.

The suspect was described as black with a dark complexion, age 30 to 40 years old, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8; having a medium build; and wearing a black jacket, black hoodie and black skull cap.
