After the U.S. Marshals Service, Fraternal Order of Police and Bella Vista businesses together posted a $7,500 reward Friday, the Chester Police Department received a tip Sunday that Christopher Reeves was in the area, according to the Police Public Affairs Unit. He was arrested at about 1 p.m. Sunday and transferred to Philadelphia at 12:15 p.m. Monday.

Reeves, of the 1900 block of South 23rd Street, allegedly entered Bean Exchange Coffee House, 650 Bainbridge St., and asked its 29-year-old employee, who opened the shop at 6 a.m., if he could have a few bucks March 31, according to the Police Public Affairs Unit. She complied and handed him some money, but Reeves is believed to have returned at 6:30 a.m. announcing that he was robbing the Bella Vista spot. The woman, who was the lone person in the eatery, handed him $173 from the register. He then allegedly forced her into the business’ restroom where he sexually assaulted her.

The 32-year-old was charged with rape, sexual assault, unlawful restraint, indecent assault, indecent exposure, false imprisonment, robbery, theft, receiving stolen property, terroristic threats, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person, according to court records. Reeves was arraigned before Court Magistrate Sheila M. Bedford at 1:18 a.m. Tuesday. He is now at a state prison in Northumberland County’s Coal Township and is being held on $150,000 bail.
