Police arrested a South Philly resident for his alleged knife use against another man in Bella Vista.

Authorities arrived at Wings & More, 900 Washington Ave., Sunday evening and learned the victim had attempted to escort out of the establishment a male whose drinking had caused him to shout and become unruly, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. Because of the alleged antics, the bar owner flagged the patron, leading to the decision to make him leave.

While the exit process was going on, the complainant said the individual became enraged and pulled a knife from his pocket. The victim said the blade struck his face and left arm and that once other customers and the manager came to help, the purported attacker ran into a nearby restaurant.

The parties followed the supposed knife wielder, Tolliver said, into the other establishment, with officers soon locating a utility knife and arresting the defendant, 30-year-old Carlos Caballero, also known as Noel Caballero, of the 700 block of Mifflin Street, without incident. They charged him with attempted criminal homicide, simple and aggravated assault, possession of an instrument of crime and making terroristic threats. The complainant received transport to Pennsylvania Hospital, where 20 stitches were needed for his face and arm lacerations.
