Two teens attempted to rob a woman in South of South area, but fled after she discovered they did not have a weapon.

A 39-year-old was walking along the 2000 block of Kater Street when Dominque Daniels, 18, of West Oak Lane, allegedly walked up to her and demanded her belongings at 11:36 a.m. Jan. 18, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. He supposedly acted if he had a gun and pointed a black plastic bag in her face, which she pushed away and realized it did not contain a weapon.

Quentin Lloyd, 18, of Overbrook, is believed to have approached as the woman started screaming, Tolliver said. Daniels allegedly struck her with his hands resulting in her keys falling from her purse. He supposedly reached for the keys, but fled eastbound on Kater with Lloyd.

The woman was unharmed, Tolliver said.

Officers saw the duo on the 1600 block of Christian Street. The two were positively identified, arrested and charged with attempted robbery, theft and receiving stolen property, as well as simple assault and criminal conspiracy. SPR
