Two men sat at the bar of a Whitman restaurant and waited to rob the place shortly before its closing.

Before the duo entered LongHorn Steakhouse, 2120 S. Columbus Boulevard, at 11:30 p.m. Friday, only four patrons and 10 employees remained, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. Before closing, the manager locked the front door and checked the bathroom for any remaining customers, but was greeted by a man armed with a black semi-automatic pistol, who demanded money. As they exited the bathroom, the other man placed a white bandana over his face, waived a dark-colored revolver around and gathered the onlookers into the kitchen.

The manager handed over about $2,400 and the pair fled, Tolliver said.

The first offender was described as black with a light complexion; in his 20s; 5-foot-10; thin; with facial hair and short hair; and wearing a dark-colored clothing and a dark blue baseball cap. The second was described as black with a dark complexion, in his 20s, stocky and wearing dark-colored clothing and a white bandana.
