Another woman failed in her struggle to keep her possessions in South of South Monday.

At 7:55 p.m., the complainant was walking southbound on 18th Street from Christian Street when two figures approached her from behind, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The first offender grabbed her briefcase, leading to a struggle that resulted in his punching her once on the jaw.

The blow knocked her to the ground, leaving the aggressor to grab the case, which contained a cell phone, a wallet, $120 and eyeglasses, Tolliver said. The victim noted the other individual did not engage in the assault but fled on foot with the first in an unknown direction. She described the attacker as black, 17 to 25 years old and having a medium to dark complexion and a thin build; and wearing a dark-colored hooded jacket. She tabbed the second as a black female having a thin build and wearing jeans and a black jacket with fur on the hood.
