A man was gunned down in South of South Friday afternoon.
Police responded to the 1600 block of Catharine Street at 4:54 p.m. for a reported shooting, Officer Tanya Little of the Police Public Affairs Unit said. There, officers found Benjamin Butcher, 20, of the 700 block of South 15th Street, with a gunshot wound to his torso. He was transported to HUP and pronounced dead at 5:17 p.m.
Police did not have any suspects or the motive as of press time.
