Police have released surveillance video of a failed-then-successful Point Breeze robbery.

Two men were loitering on the 2000 block of Sigel Street before starting to walk into Nana Grocery Store, 1826 S. 20th St., at 7:10 p.m. Feb. 18, according to the Police Public Affairs Unit. Upon seeing a customer, the two retreated and returned 20 minutes later.

During their second attempt, the armed man stood at the door as a lookout while the other demanded cash from the 42-year-old cashier, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. Her 21-year-old associate insisted she do as was asked, but before she could the man jumped on the counter and grabbed $200 from the register. The younger worker hit the panic alarm and the robbing duo fled in an unknown direction.

The armed robber was described as black with a dark complexion, age 18 to 20, 5-foot-5, and wearing a black and gray-striped jacket, dark-colored jeans and a ski mask while his accomplice was described as black with a dark complexion, age 18 to 20, 5-foot-9 and wearing a blue jacket, black hoodie and a white ski mask.
