A man allegedly confessed to strangling his Dickinson Narrows roommate Friday.

Carlos M. Farrington, 35, of the 1600 block of South of Orkney Street, allegedly flagged down police and admitted to killing someone at 1:40 p.m., Officer Christine O’Brien of the Police Public Affairs Unit said.

An argument allegedly led Farrington to strangle and beat James Lawson, 34, whose body was found covered in towels and curtains in their basement, O’Brien said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Farrington, who is being held without bail, was charged with first-degree murder and theft, according to court records. He had pled guilty in 1999 to a robbery, firearm violation and drug possessions that occurred in the late-90s.
