Two men held up a Girard Estate pharmacy Monday and were later apprehended at the Penrose Diner.

Reginald Mackey, 46, of North Philly, allegedly walked in CVS, 1901 Oregon Ave., at 10:45 a.m. and approached a cashier, Tolliver said. “If you don’t empty the register, my man over here is going to start shooting everybody,” he is believed to have said referencing Chandaravuth Ngeth, 24, of the 800 block of Ritner Street, who was allegedly standing by the door.

The employee handed over more than $200, Tolliver said. The two fled the store, but the robbery was captured on video surveillance. It is unclear whether either actually had a gun.

Shortly after, both men were spotted at the Penrose Diner, 2016 Penrose Ave., and were arrested, Tolliver said. Police recovered the money and a demand note, which was not used in the robbery, from Mackey.

Both were charged with robbery, theft — unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, simple assault, conspiracy and terroristic threats.

Ngeth was charged with simple assault and recklessly endangering another person in June while Mackey pled guilty and served time for a 1987 robbery, according to court documents.
