A man complimented a woman’s ring before swiping it from her Saturday.

The 59-year-old woman was walking along the 100 block of Snyder Avenue at 10:55 p.m. to catch a cab after dinner, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. While there, three unknown men approached her. One of them commented on her jewelry, grabbed her hand and removed the one-carat diamond ring with a silver band, valued at $2,500. The trio fled westbound on Snyder.

The robber was described as black with a dark complexion, age 18 to 20, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8, having a medium build and wearing a blue and orange jacket.
