The deadline to apply for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program, which gives money back to eligible citizens age 65 and older, widows age 50 and older, and those with disabilities age 18 and older who paid property taxes or rent in 2010, is June 30.
An income limit of $35,000 per year for homeowners and $15,000 for renters is included to be eligible for the rebate program. The standard rebate is around $650 although certain homeowners may receive up to $975, according to state Rep. Kenyatta Johnson, whose 1610 S. Broad St. and 2103 Snyder Ave. offices have applications. Rebates disbursements will begin July 1.
