An observant resident kept a vacant South of South property from losing copper piping last week.

A 37-year-old man reported hearing noise from a vacant property next to his home on the 1000 block of South Bouvier Street and seeing someone bending pipes in the rear of the space at 7:25 p.m. July 24, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. Authorities allegedly spotted the figure carrying copper piping and following a call to the property’s owner that revealed nobody had permission to be there, arrested Port Richmond resident Gregory Moore, 28.

Moore also allegedly had tools, a tool bag and narcotics on him, Tolliver said.

He was charged with burglary, criminal trespassing, possession of an instrument of crime, theft, receiving stolen property and a narcotics violation, according to court records. His $5,000 bail was not posted as of press time.
