A Point Breeze man was found guilty and sentenced to jail for robbing a man inside a local bar and then burglarizing the man’s home in 2010.

Tracey Thomas, 22, of the 1200 block of South 22nd Street, was sentenced Aug. 29 to 10 to 20 years in prison plus additional time for two firearm violations and possession of an instrument of crime, which brought the total sentence to 18-and-a-half to 37 years, according to court records.
Thomas previously was on probation for recklessly endangering another person, resisting arrest and fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, according to court records, which indicate multiple probation violations.

Armed with a gun, Thomas robbed a 53-year-old of $150 and his house keys inside Crab Bar, 1252 S. 21st St., July 14 ’10 and then used the keys to enter the home on the 2300 block of Dickinson Street, according to police. When the alarm system went off, Thomas and another man fled in a Buick station wagon, which was later recovered on the 2700 block of Latona Street.

Thomas was arrested after police spotted him hopping in the backseat of a black Dodge on the 2300 block of Gerritt Street Aug. 1, ’10, police said. The driver of the vehicle refused to pull over per police request. With assistance from backup, officers stopped the vehicle in Southwest Philly and arrested Thomas.
