Two armed men robbed a man of his book bag and wallet, but discarded the latter as they fled Saturday.

A 24-year-old was headed south on the 700 block of South Eighth Street at 2:05 a.m. when the duo pointed guns at him and demanded his belongings, which included his backpack, containing a laptop and textbook; HTC cell phone and wallet, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. As the pair fled eastbound on Clymer, they tossed his wallet to the ground without taking anything.

One of the thieves was described as black with a dark complexion, age 20 to 21, 5-foot-10, 160 pounds, clean-shaven, having a medium build and wearing a black hoodie and dark-colored jeans. The other thief was described as black with a dark complexion, age 18 to 19, 5-foot-8, 150 pounds, having stubble on his chin, having a slim build and wearing a dark-colored hoodie and dark jeans.
