Just before 6 p.m. Friday, authorities reported to the 1500 block of South Cleveland Street in response to a shooting call and located 45-year-old Joseph McKinnon suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the head, torso and arms, Officer Tanya Little of the Police Public Affairs Unit said. The department added that the resident of the 2200 block of South Bucknell Street had been driving at the time of the attack, whose motive remains unknown, and crashed his 2008 Nissan into a home on the block.
Law enforcement agents arranged for his transport to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where personnel pronounced him dead later that evening.
