Although unsuccessful in a Queen Village robbery attempt, three young men left their target with a large laceration to his head early Monday.

The trio approached the 19-year-old on the 500 block of Carpenter Street at 1:07 a.m. when the armed man said, “Give me everything you have,” Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. Before the teen could react, the perpetrator whacked him on the head with his black firearm. The three left without taking anything and headed east on Carpenter and north on Fifth Street.

The teen was transported to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital where he received five stitches to close the head wound, Tolliver said.

The offenders were described as black males, ages 17 to 25, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 and thin. Two were wearing long, white T-shirts and dark-colored pants while the third was wearing a black T-shirt with a design on it and dark-colored sweatpants with white stripes.
