A pair of robbers broke into a Bella Vista comic book store, taking memorabilia and money.

Eric Lewis, 32, of the 5500 block of Catharine Street, allegedly shattered the front window of Atomic City Comics, 638 South St., at 4:50 a.m. March 2 and began rummaging through the merchandise, placing certain items in a large red sack, according to police. Another unknown man joined him, and the pair looted the store for about an hour before fleeing the location in unknown directions.

Police, who are seeking assistance to identify the second thief, responded to the scene for a reported disturbance, police said. Upon arrival, the responding officer spotted Lewis, who matched the description of one of the offenders, and was arrested on the 600 block of South Ninth Street.

He was charged with burglary, trespassing, conspiracy, theft, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief, according to court records. Lewis posted a percentage of his $5,000 bail March 3.

The other perpetrator was described as a male of an unknown race, stocky; having short, dark-colored hair; and wearing a dark-colored hoodie, dark-colored pants, dark-colored sneakers and a baseball cap.
