After a night at an area strip club, a man was struck by a car and assaulted by two others whom he claimed he did not know.
Upon returning from Onyx Club, 2908 S. Columbus Blvd, a 36-year-old parked his car on the 1200 block of South 17th Street and walked toward Annin at 3:27 a.m. Jan. 19 when a black sedan slammed into him, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. Two men exited the vehicle and struck the man repeatedly when a dark-colored van pulled up, the duo tried to throw him in the back. After a brief struggle, the men fled south on 17th.
Nothing was taken from the victim, who had no idea who wanted to harm him, Tolliver said. The police did not provide a description of the offenders.
