Although the assailant has not yet been caught, a Passyunk Square store’s surveillance equipment captured the store being robbed Saturday.

An unknown man armed with a black semi-automatic handgun entered Philamex Tienda Mexicana, 1341 S. Ninth St. at 9:47 p.m. and demanded its on-duty employee to open the register, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. After she complied, the man snatched about $180 before fleeing on foot.

The employee was unharmed, Tolliver said.

The man was described as white, age 26, 5-foot-10, 180 to 200 pounds and wearing a black hoody, blue jeans, a black ski mask and black gloves.
