Nathan Morris

A member of Boyz II Men, Morris, formerly of South of South, has reached global success with classmates at High School for Creative and Performing Arts.

Originally from Southwest Philly, Morris started singing in church at age 7 before his grade school teacher directed him to William Meredith School, which was formerly a performing arts middle school. The then-17th-and-Christian-streets resident was accepted at CAPA where he found others with his passion, including co-founder of the group, Marc Nelson. Members came and went throughout Morris’ high school years, but the then-quintet Unique Attraction received its big break upon sneaking backstage and performing for New Edition’s Michael Bivins in 1989.

The group has released hits, such as “End of the Road,” “I’ll Make Love To You” and “On Bended Knee” and has won four Grammys. The R&B trio’s latest album, “Twenty,” which celebrates the group’s two-decade career, was released in 2011.
