A Southwest man was apprehended after allegedly committing 10 commercial burglaries in South Philly.

Within about a month, investigators pieced together evidence that led them to Dinh Nguyen, 39, of the 2300 block of South 70th Street, who was charged with nine burglaries and an attempted burglary of businesses, which included seven nail salons over the course of six days, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said.

Nguyen is believed to be responsible for the crimes at Lee’s Nails, 1701 Snyder Ave., June 21; Kimberly’s Nails, 2301 S. 22nd St., June 21; Casey Nail Salon, 1615 Snyder Ave., June 22; Helen’s Nails, 2701 S. Darien St., June 23; Tweedy for Nails, 1146 S. 11th St., June 25; and Philly’s Nail, 2502 S. Broad St. June 26, as well as the attempted burglary of Nails & Spa, 1700 Oregon Ave., June 24, according to police and court records. He also allegedly burglarized the Spanish restaurant El Costeñito, 2654 S. Sixth St., June 27 before police linked him to the Nails & Spa and Lee’s Nails break-ins July 10 and 23, respectively.

Nguyen supposedly broke into Las Palmas Restaurante, 2655 S. Sheridan St., July 25 and broke a window at El Costeñito July 27, but did not take anything, according to police and court records. Via an arrest warrant, officers arrested him on the 2100 block of South Seventh Street, Tolliver said. He allegedly had blood on his clothing and fresh cuts on his left hand.

Nguyen also was charged with 10 counts of criminal mischief; nine counts of trespassing; seven counts of theft and receiving stolen property; two counts of possession of an instrument of crime; and a count of attempted trespassing and attempted theft, according to court records. He is currently on a three-year probation term for a 2011 attempted car theft in Southwest Philly.
