A Dickinson Narrows man was sentenced to jail for up to 46 years for killing a man inside the victim’s Wolf Street residence.

Narat Kim, 22, of the 1300 block of South Sixth Street, will spend to 20 to 40 years in prison for third-degree murder plus three to six years for carrying a firearm without a license Feb. 15. He also will serve nine months to five years concurrently to the murder sentence for possession of an instrument of crime, according to court records.

During an argument at 8:30 p.m. March 26 2010, Kim shot Saran Ngoy, 26, of the 600 block of Wolf Street, in the abdomen, police said. Ngoy died 90 minutes later.

Kim was arrested two days later. He intended to plead guilty Feb. 17, ’11, but changed his mind, according to court records. A jury convicted him after a three-day trial Dec. 21.
