Yes, there is one day a year in which Mom Mom and Pop Pop get top billing — National Grandparents Day. But waiting until Sept. 10 to recognize them seems like a silly idea. Quite frankly today, tomorrow, or just about any day, for that matter, is an excellent occasion to make them your №1 priority. Christina M. Pullo knows the value of commending kin through culinary creations, and provides a simple way to thank them through this recipe for Mom Mom and Pop Pop’s Cookies.
Along with the standard list of ingredients and directions, the Lower Moyamensing resident offered a humorous secondary items list and procedural explanation, stating preparers will need 1 nice day, 1 phone call, and 1 loving grandmother and grandfather. She also advises giving elders one-hour notice to come over for “their favorite dessert.” Like the finished products, which Pullo contends are “soooo good,” your gesture will prove equally unforgettable.
