A total of 15 alleged members of La Cosa Nostra, a Philadelphia organized crime family, were arrested last year. Now three of those involved will spend more than two years in federal prison.

Louis “Sheep” Barretta, 47, of the 2500 block of South Colorado Street, pled guilty to racketeering conspiracy and illegal gambling Sept. 5 and was sentenced to two years and nine months in jail Monday, according to court records. Barretta must forfeit $8,000, that the government confiscated from fellow defendant Anthony Staino Jr. in 2006 and believes to be Barretta’s cash.

Martin “Marty” Angelina, 48, of the 1800 block of Johnston Street, will spend four years and nine months behind bars due to a Sept. 17 sentencing that stemmed from his Aug. 8 guilty plea to racketeering conspiracy, illegal gambling, which occurred at First Ward Republican Club, 2300 S. Woodstock St., and two counts of collection of credit by extortionate means, according to court records. He also must forfeit three video poker machines the government seized in ’06 from the club along with 11 other machines taken from A.C.E. Vending Warehouse, 824-26 Mountain St., in ’01.

Gaeton “The Big Guy” Lucibello, 59, of Philly, also pled guilty to racketeering conspiracy and illegal gambling Aug. 2 and was sentenced to four years and three months in jail, according to court records. He also must forfeit two video poker machines the government confiscated from DiNic’s Tavern, 1528 Snyder Ave., in ’09.

Louis “Bent Finger Louie” Monacello, 46, of Philly, pled guilty and agreed to cooperate with the U.S. Attorney’s Office July 18,’ 11, according to court documents. The group’s alleged mob boss, Joseph Ligambi, 73, and 10 others await trial, which is set for Tuesday for all but three of the defendants.
