A man made a large withdrawal from his bank, but was robbed of the transaction in East Passyunk Crossing Monday morning.
The 69-year-old made the transaction at TD Bank, 2201 S. Broad St., by taking out $3,500 from his account at 9:57 a.m., Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. As he traveled home, a man wrestled him to the ground on the 1300 block of Moore Street, grabbed the cash that was located in a black canvas bag and fled southbound on Juniper Street and west on Tasker Street.
The bag was recovered on the 1400 block of Tasker Street, Tolliver said.
The offender was described as black with a light complexion, 5-foot-8, thin, clean shaven, and wearing a gray shirt.
