A woman was sprayed in the face with Mace and robbed last week in Newbold.
A 21-year-old was walking on the 1500 block of Snyder Avenue at 10 p.m. Feb. 9 when a woman walked around her from behind and sprayed her in the face with the chemical compound, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The two struggled before the woman utilized the pepper spray once again at which time the victim dropped her purse containing $10, credit cards and identification. The offender snatched it and fled westbound on Snyder.
The thief was described as black, age 20 to 25, 5-foot-4, thin and wearing a brown leather jacket, blue jeans and a tan cap.
