A man suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his legs and groin area in Grays Ferry Monday.
Authorities received notice of a shooting on the 1500 block of South Napa Street at 12:12 a.m. and located the complainant on the northwest corner of the 3100 block of Tasker Street. He had been walking westbound on Tasker Street from 28th Street, turned northbound onto South Napa Street and became a victim when someone pulled onto the latter location and fired a gun, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said.
Immediately dropping to the ground, the man heard more gunshots and began to suffer pain in his legs before the vehicle, which he described as a white or silver SUV, possibly a Chevrolet, sped away in an unknown direction, Tolliver said. He made his way to the 3100 block of Tasker Street, where he used a passerby’s cell phone to call authorities, who transported him to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. A description of the vehicle’s occupants was not available.
